We are a community

We support and work alongside those whose loved ones – many of them children and young adults – have died suddenly and unexpectedly from epilepsy. Many of our volunteers have been suddenly bereaved but work to stop others from going through the same terrible experience.

We are more than just a charity; we are a community founded on the work and vision of our volunteers.

Our volunteers fundraise and raise awareness

Our volunteers run coffee clubs, fundraise and raise awareness; they enable innovation and life-saving research and are involved as people with powerful lived experience. Our trustees are all volunteers and lead strategy and governance and are active volunteers across other work in the community.

In 2022, we were one of only two Oxfordshire-based nominations for the 2022 Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK, being equivalent to the MBE. The prestigious award recognises exceptional work done by volunteer groups in their communities.
