Story by Susie (Alison's mom)

Alison

On January 28, 2022, our sweet 16-year-old daughter Alison passed away from SUDEP. We found her face down on her pillow on a typical Friday morning. We performed CPR and the Emergency crew tried to save her, yet it was already too late and we lost our sweet joy.

Alison never let a seizure get her down.

quote-graphic

Alison never let a seizure get her down.

Her younger brother described her as being resilient. At three-years-old, Alison had her first seizure, and they continued the rest of her life. She was on a combination of many anti-seizure medications with on and off seizure control.

We were never told she could die from a seizure and we had no awareness of SUDEP. We wish for other families to be aware and to educate themselves about SUDEP.
